Ishola Williams

New York[RR]Washington-DC/Abuja-FCT–Respected retired Nigerian Military General, Ishola Williams hours ago attacked Mohammadu Buhari led-APC regime’s readiness and preparedness in its suspicious war against terror-insurgency group identified as Boko Haram. In a piece by News Agency of Nigeia, NAN, reacting to emerging reports indicate that the upcoming Buhari’s United States visit slated for April 30, 2018 is to strengthen Nigerian-US Strategic partnership on economic, and technical relationship on Military in its war against insurgency. Curiously, military expert and retired General Ishola Williams poked holes the upcoming visit as charade and misinformation.

His words: “Let us see a document on Nigeria-United States strategic policy”.  Adding that, Buhari was only invited to come sign-off check worth 700Million dollars.

General Mohammadu Buhari’s United States visit is non susceptible and non-sustainable.  “US-visit, Buhari to waste $700Million on outdated AWP-Tucano Jet to fight Boko Haram, when Chopper/Drones are innovatively used at less costs, When is Buhari going to ask America to sign 1Billion dollars for Education and health respectively; when’re we going to learn?”–Gen. Ishola Williams

“People,We must stop deceiving ourselves.  There is nothing like Strategic Partnership when we lack Strategic thinkers and analysts at Policy and Decision making Level..”, General Ishola Williams fumed.

“Let us  see a document on Nigeria-USA Strategic Policy. General Mohammadu Buhari is being invited to sign a check of nearly 700Million USD for the air weapons platform Tucano A 10 Fight Boko Haram. Adding that, “Good anti-insurgency aircraft, but do we need that plane when choppers and drones are used innovatively at far less costs, can (‘t) do the job if Boko Haram is already degraded. He (Trump) may also confuse him to buy more military toys that we cannot play with..”, he warned.

As it where, General Ishola Williams comments was quickly attacked by certain Kayode Adebayo a staunch APC-Buhari supporter who is always on the social media non-stop. “Hahaha! Our dear Gen. Ishola Williams has left his General hat at the Dodon Barracks and has transformed into a politician. If other people who have no clue about the Nigerian military and its current state of military preparedness wrote the above statement, I would have forgiven them for being Ignorant.

But General Ishola, you are not. You know what’s is wrong with the Nigerian military very well, but you are now becoming a politician. Please don’t become Obasanjo. Obasanjo is a clown”, he added.
Nevertheless the respected retired General did not back down rather, he forwarded additional questions to Mohammadu Buhari and his supporters: “Do you need the aircraft for herdsmen? Who are these terrorists alias herdsmen?
“Why do we  need an Army University to compete with NDA (Armed forces) which needs money for quality staff, structures and equipment?
“Let GMB ask for USD 1 Billion for education and health; this is what Bill Gates and Dangote are saying the Whole world will react positively.
Let us think and act for the present and future of our country”, General Ishola Williams fired back.

U.S. President Donald Trump would host President Muhammadu Buhari on April 30, the White House announced on Sunday evening.

The White House in a statement said Mr Buhari would meet Mr Trump at Washington to discuss issues including “fighting terrorism” and economic growth.

“President Trump looks forward to discussing ways to enhance our strategic partnership and advance our shared priorities:

“Promoting economic growth and reforms, fighting terrorism and other threats to peace and security, and building on Nigeria’s role as a democratic leader in the region.

“The relationship of the United States with Nigeria is deep and strong, and Nigeria’s economic growth, security, and leadership in Africa will advance our mutual prosperity,” the statement read in part.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Mr Buhari was the first African leader Mr Trump called on phone following his inauguration as the U.S. president.

Diplomatic experts said Mr Buhari, being the first African leader called by Mr Trump, only reaffirmed Nigeria’s strategic position in Africa.

NAN also recalls that former U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson also visited Nigeria in February in a first five-country African tour embarked upon by any official of the administration.
