Citizen C. Ezebuihe: “ALL ROADS LEAD TO BIAFRA”: Breaking: Igbo ask Buhari to ‘shut up’ on Biafra, called on ICC, Hague to begin trial of all war crimes perpetrators in Nigeria including Buhari. Ohaneze Ndigbo regrets Buhari’s comment on Biafra
“Two Igbo socio-political pressure groups IGBO PEOPLES CONGRESS AND IGBO ABORIGENES  have lambasted President Mohammadu Buhari for his false claim that the Nigerian troops were lenient on Biafran soldiers and civilians during the war.

“The spokesmen of the groups Pastor Okey Colbert and Chidi Obisike expressed shock at the provocative utterances of Buhari and wondered why he(Buhari ) decided to falsify history at this point in time. They wondered if Buhari who they claimed participated in the genocide against Biafrans had forgotten the Asaba massacre, the bombings and genocide at Ozu Abam, Otuocha, Awka, Aba, Ngor Okpala, and several Biafran towns .

“For this wicked utterances, we now call on the INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT AT THE HAGUE  to take urgent steps to apprehend all war crime perpetrators in Nigeria during the civil war including Buhari , they stated. Gen Gowon , despite his christain background supervised one of the world’s well known pogrom and genocide and no amount of GOWN PRAYS will absolve his guilt and subsequent eternal punishment for such crime against  humanity they insisted.

According to Okenwa Nwosu, M.D. Gowon signed off the former Eastern region to Britian: “The Ahiara Declaration of June 1, 1969 correctly posited that the three age-old scourges of the Black African are Racism, Arab-Muslim expansionism and White economic imperialism. Having a thorough understanding and appreciation of this fact was, therefore, deemed fundamental in engendering any stratagem or redemptive agenda to extricate contemporary Africans from the major woes that torment their lives today. As fate would have it, issues that led to Africa’s deadliest pogroms and genocidal war in Biafra 50 years ago had to do with these three scourges of racism, Arab-Muslim expansionism and White economic imperialism. These forces were, unfortunately, unleashed through fellow Black Africans who acted as the foot soldiers in perpetrating the evil designs of the puppeteers. This same scenario persists to date, especially in Nigeria.

“Racism was the main reason why the so-called civilized world folded its arms and simply watched as millions of innocent children, nursing mothers and the aged were starved to death and the rest were assaulted through land, sea and air bombardments with arsenals of modern weaponry supplied for killing Black Africans. The United Nations, despite its glorified stance on universal human rights, felt totally incapable of doing anything to stop the systematic murder of an estimated 3.5 million Biafrans whose only “crime” was their daring to assert their unalienable right to self-determination as a last resort to safeguard themselves against the systematic design to exterminate them by their supposed fellow compatriots. Arab-Muslim expansionist scourge was manifest through direct infusion of funds, supply of Libyan and Egyptian MIG Jet fighter pilots as well as specialized troops that oversaw and partook in the murderous raids on defenseless populace in civil war Biafra.

“White economic imperialism was manifest in the ignoble role played by the UK government of Great Britain, through its diplomatic missions in Nigeria, to instigate the choice of a genocidal war as the preferred means to resolve the political crises that had necessitated the convocation of the Aburi Conference of January 1967. British interest in Eastern Nigeria’s oil and gas reserves made the UK government to trash the outcome of the Aburi get-together and instead herded its former colonial subjects into a genocidal mayhem that lasted for 30 months. The White nations that comprised members of the UN Security Council at the time, including the former Soviet Union, were contented to take bribes and promissory notes predicated on Eastern Nigeria’s oil resources simply because of shared greed for the despoliation of the wealth of Black African peoples.

“The Ahiara Declaration of June 1, 1969 (https://goo.gl/a4wXmP) was correct in its assertions 50 years ago as it is today – and shall remain so for the foreseeable future. The same immortal document instructs us to aspire to build a modern African nation state that shall guarantee social and economic justice and the rule of law for all its peoples. This is our commitment and mission in the Lower Niger Independence Movement (LONIM)”, he warned.

“TWO IGBO GROUPS SLAM BUHARI FOR COMMENTS ON BIAFRA . CALL ON ICC AT THE HAGUE TO BEGIN TRIAL OF ALL WAR CRIME PERPETRATORS IN NIGERIA INCLUDING BUHARI. AS OHANAEZE NDIGBO REGRETS THE COMMENT.

Two Igbo socio-political pressure groups IGBO PEOPLES CONGRESS AND IGBO ABORIGENES  have lambasted President Mohammadu Buhari for his false claim that the Nigerian troops were lenient on Biafran soldiers and civilians during the war.

The spokesmen of the groups Pastor Okey Colbert and Chidi Obisike expressed shock at the provocative utterances of Buhari and wondered why he(Buhari ) decided to falsify history at this point in time. In another vein the National Deputy Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Chuks Ibegbu has expressed regret over the comment by Mr President . He noted that that was a wrong interpretation of history and Mr President ought not to have insulted the sensibilities of the dead in that tragedy.

He cautioned the President to be more circumspect when analysing history so as not to distort facts and reality .What would Buhari term what happened at Asaba, Umuohiagu, OzuAbam , Otuocha and other Eastern towns between 1967 and 1970 , Ibegbu querried.

In another vein a group, the Coalition of Civil Society Organisations of Nigeria COCSON has lauded the jailing of former Governor of Taraba state Jolly Nyame for looting of the state treasury. The group congratulated President Buhari and the EFCC for waking up from their slumber and hope other looting past and present Governors and politicians will also be jailed soon . The Secretary General of the group, Aminu Muhammad warned against nepotism and selective war against corruption and advised the EFCC never to allow itself be used for selective trial of corrupt persons,. They advised President Buhari to ensure that looting politicians in APC are also jailed.
