Eto’s Show Of Shame: “You Can Take A “Nigger” Out Of The Ghetto But Would Never Take The Ghetto Out Of The “Nigger”–Republic Reporters

New York[RR] Dallas–With Joe Eto indicted for multiple fraud charges and other serious allegations, one would have thought that “gentleman” ETo would have quietly resigned from his World Igbo Congress, WIC, Chairmanship position until he clears his good name from, aforesaid, allegations, Republic Reporters investigations indicate. As it were, the civilized world said, “Mr. Eto Is Not Qualified To Lead The Igbo, in the USA.

According to Benjamin Obiajulu Aduba, writing from Boston, Massachusetts, has joined the chorus that, tainted, “Eto Is Not Qualified To Lead The Igbo”, reports say.

Mr. Aduba said, “It was extraordinarily annoying and devastating to read that Mr. Eto, a man indicted for fraud, has been elected as the leader of World Igbo Council Organization It is beyond belief. Not in my wildest dreams would I have thought that it would be possible and here I am starring the fact in the face.

He raised possible, three points why he feels this way. First,, he said, there are a thousand reason why I thought it was impossible, but just raised only three, to make his argument.
“I thought that Mr. Eto had evolved into a gentleman and a lover of the Igbo and would do all he can to save the face of the Igbo. That once his indictment became official that he would resign from his high position giving the excuse that he needed time to fight this wrong accusation; that he could not fight this case while exercising his full responsibility to Ndi Igbo; that he would love to protect the Igbo name from the mess he is entangled in; and that this time is best for him to lie low in order to come back stronger. That was how I thought his thinking brain should have worked, but alas Mr. Eto is still to primitive; too self-absorbed; too into himself to see a bigger picture. I thought that Mr. Eto was a gentleman.

“I thought that if Mr. Eto did not realize the above by himself that WIC board would ease him out gently. That the Board would remind him of his fiduciary responsibilities and of the boards responsibilities to ensure that nobody would bring shame and dishonor to WIC; that WIC has been abroad and no longer operate in dirt as do some politicians in the home country. That we are “better” than the rogues at home. I thought that the board would have seen how these kinds of things are done in the countries we live in. I would have thought that the educated board (each member has a minimum B. S. degree) have worked for some years in US and learned the protocols in public service. But alas one can take a “nigger” out of the ghetto, but would never take the ghetto out of the “nigger.” What a shame!

“The common perception of Ndiigbo is that we play fast and loose with money. The entire membership of WIC are fully aware of this image and in normal circumstances would not want the face of the Igbo to be represented by an indicted felon. I would have thought the rank and file would rise to protest having an indicted felon be their face. Each time now I read about WIC the picture of Mr. Eto’s muck picture would be staring me in the face as the face of my president. TUFIAKWA.

He added, “Is all lost now? Yes, for the most part. But there could be some remedial actions if all parties are ready to clean up the mess. It should start with Mr. Eto tendering his resignation abruptly if he loves the people he claims he would be leading. The board would accept the resignation and appoint a caretaker committee. The entire board would also resign and hand over to a new board for making a mess of things and a mess of itself. They would return the 30 pieces of silver they took from the Pharisees. A new board and a new care taker committee would become the new WIC under new management. Failing to do all of these things, WIC is finished. Most people would not feel the same way as before. Hopefully Mr. Eto would win his case and come back with a clean slate.
If Mr. Eto loses in court, we would have a prisoner as our president. And that is not a good thing. It is something that could have been prevented..”, he said.

A respected commentator, like Nebukadineze Adiele, had earlier stated that, he was there in Dallas. “It is a shame, seeing a visionless group of people, he said.

Adiele, said, “Once in a while, becomes reasonable to assume that the intelligence, sagacity, and human management ability of the Igbo are either overtly exaggerated or non existent at all. That a man who has been indicted and charged with felonious crimes, in the USA, not Nigeria where criminality is a badge of honor, has been reelected to lead WIC shows clearly that Igbos of today have evolved into faked forms of Igbos of the past.

“I was there, in Texas, and I saw with my own eyes things I never thought I would ever see. I saw alleged educated Igbos demonstrate abject lacking in thoughtfulness and the depravity of not standing on principles. Before my eyes, those who privately agreed that Eto is an eyesore on WIC became cowed and lost their balls by withdrawing their candidacies, by capitulating to the political chicaneries of the imposter politicians who showed up here for their self-seeking corrupt ways. With the caliber of Igbos we have almost everywhere today (thieves, corrupt elements, selfish egomaniacs, visionless cowards, purchasable pricks, etc), it will be too tasking for Igbos of sound minds to continue to exhibit their pride in Igbo.

“In almost every Igbo organization, you hardly see an altruistic Igbo; you see egomaniacs and cowards who would join you in the dark to chase away ghosts but would accuse you of smelling like a ghost in daylight, when the ghosts have morphed into the “people”.

Finally, he said, “Should president Obama, Secretary Kerry, or US Attorney General Holder seek audience with the Igbo community this year, shall Igbo not be sending a criminally indicted Chairman to them and will any decent Igbo feel offended if the president or any of his Secretaries shuns Igbo folks? That one has not been convicted of a crime means that the person is presumed innocent and rightly so. But that does not mean that the person retains all of his/her privileges in life, like leading a people while under indictment. A people that ignores this axiom stands embarrassed before a morally upright environment.

But Collins Ezebuihe, said, WIC may come out of this stronger if proper Public Relation, PR, is harnessed.

In his words, “Jimmy Asiegbu & Other Combatants: Arbitration might be the best way out of this impasse. No need for a lengthy court battle.

“But as unfortunate as this development obviously looks and sounds, WIC might actually emerge from it much stronger and a more united entity. But the first step remains that arbitration, not a lawyer to lawyer shoot-out –which could cripple the organization this time. Arbitration, followed with goodwill PR by all parties, gives WIC a better chance of re-bounding. Afterall, the court battle between George Bush jnr. and Al Gore was not too different from this WIC election fiasco, but America still steamed forward after the court ruling in favor of Bush jnr…until Bush got into an unnecessary war in Iraq and the economy fail apart.
