Nigeria Military Takes-over FCT-Abuja Over Fears of Terrorist Attacks On Independence Day–Republic Reporters

New York[RR] FCT-Abuja–Nigeria Military Takes over FCT-Abuja Over Fears of Terrorist Attacks On Independence Day–Republic Reporters, gathered hours ago.

According to reports, Nigerian military were deployed to all notorious and vulnerable spots in the FCT, to monitor criminals, including vulnerable points within the FCT that were discovered to be heavily guarded are: Dei-Dei, Karmo, Gwagwa, Suleja, Zuba, Gwagwalada, Dutse-Alhaji, Mpape, Apo, Massaka, Nyanya, Kugbo, Mararaba, and Gudu.

‘Insider personnels have revealed that indeed the soldiers have arrested a good number of Boko Haram members and other criminals trying to relocate to the city.

“Also, the Guards Brigade are said to have put in stiffer security measures on the movements and use of dynamites in the FCT. This is due to intelligence reports that some construction workers in Abuja have a way of getting the dynamites to the terrorists and other criminals.

Adding that, “Unlike in the past when construction companies were allowed to build their armouries to store these explosives, the situation has changed as all explosives are now being stored by the military, police and security agencies.

“Construction companies that would like to use the explosives must apply to the security agencies to get them and also indicate the dates they intend to use them.

Soldiers from the Guards Brigade of the Nigerian Army have taken over the entire security of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

This is as a result of intelligence reports that some members of the Boko Haram sect are planning to attack Abuja as on Nigeria’s 54th independence anniversary a source revealed.

This development has seen the mounting of several check points by soldier on the entire entry and exit points of Abuja.

It has also seen the creation of new check-points as Intel has it that the group intend to hit Abuja using alternative entries.

A walk around Abuja shows that soldiers have indeed taking over the city and taken positions strategically.

The Guards Brigade has mounted security scanning cameras in some strategic and vulnerable points in the FCT It was learnt.

This is to scan and detect explosives planted on vehicles, passengers and luggages coming into Abuja.

Also, soldiers were deployed to all notorious and vulnerable spots in the FCT, to monitor criminals.

Vulnerable points within the FCT that were discovered to be heavily guarded are: Dei-Dei, Karmo, Gwagwa, Suleja, Zuba, Gwagwalada, Dutse-Alhaji, Mpape, Apo, Massaka, Nyanya, Kugbo, Mararaba, and Gudu.

Construction companies that would like to use the explosives must apply to the security agencies to get them and also indicate the dates they intend to use them. If by any reason they were not able to use them on the agreed dates, they must return them to the security agencies.

Presently, no blast takes place in Abuja without the knowledge of the Guards Brigade and the security agencies. It must also be announced on public radio stations to inform the residents.
