PRESS RELEASE: THE GOLDEN RULES OF ETHNIC NATIONALITIES: THE EMERGING NEW NATIONS OF EXPIRED NIGERIA–by IgboZaraIgbo, Washington, DC

New York[RR]Washington-DC–Preamble–IgboZaraIgbo is a United States Igbo non-profit organization unapologetically committed to the promotion of Igbo values in all their ramifications, including the reestablishment of an Igbo State to ground those values.

God, in His surpassing mercy and wisdom, duly cognizant of the treacherous nature of humans, separated them by ethnicities – equipping them uniquely with values, such as language, culture, and tradition as He saw fit and placing them in a certain demarcate-able territories across the globe. This act of God, which we at IgboZaraIgbo equate to the Golden Rules of Ethnic Nationalities, benefits both all ethnicities, whether big and small, wherever they are located.

Some of these ethnicities are endowed with natural riches, while others are less so blessed. Going further, while today members of some not well-endowed territories have worked hard to add values to their God-given endowments, others resort to extortion and greedy takeover of others’ property that they shamelessly appropriate as theirs.

Nigerian ethnic groups are not conjoined twins and there are many benefits of peaceful separation as we indicate shortly in this release. What is more, in the time period before now, many ethnic nationalities around the world in territories far removed from the borders of present-day Nigeria have found it in their mutual interests, without coercion of any kind, to form alliances with compatible or like-minded others, guided by the benefits of cooperative relations. In the modern world, Switzerland typifies this progressive model.

Elements of the Golden Rules of Ethnic Nationalities

By this press release, IgboZaraIgbo proposes the same for any emerging new nation or ethnicity in the dissolution of the expired Nigeria, with particular emphasis on ethnic nationalities in the former Eastern Nigeria and former Mid-West Nigeria.

This release is necessitated by the recent spike in the number of ethnic organizations from southern Nigeria ostensibly disclaiming themselves from the Igbo-Biafra movement, a development that we at IgboZaraIgbo not only expect but also welcome as the train of the movement winds its way inexorably toward its final stop of self-determination. Specifically, the purpose of this release is to respond to those disclamations.

Some of the organizations distancing themselves from the Igbo-Biafra movement by indicating that they not be included in any proposed map of the United States of Biafra (USB) come from ethnic groups in southern Nigeria that include the Ibibio, Ijaw, Ogoni, Edo, Itsekiri, and Urhobo. The first three of these groups were part of the old Republic of Biafra.
Our humble answer to the concern of these associations from non-Igbo ethnic nationalities is a recapitulation of the code of well-grounded principles of the new Biafra movement – the Golden Rules of Ethnic Nationalities – which we earnestly advise that they familiarize themselves with. The code is embedded in the time-tested principles of social justice (ofo na ogu) that form the way of life in Igbo communities, including odi be ndi (respect for the way of life of other peoples), and egbe belu, ugo belu (the inalienable right of the strong and weak to coexist in peace).
Under the Golden Rules of Ethnic Nationalities as we conceptualize it at IgboZaraIgbo, each ethnic nationality must:
speak for itself;
control its own political space;
control 100% of its boundaries;
control 100% of its resources;
grow at its own pace;
govern itself; and
make the ultimate decision on the way forward by itself and itself alone.
Going further, each ethnic nationality, no matter its size, qualifies as a “People” under international law and hence entitled to its right to self-determination. Accordingly, each ethnic nationality must:
exercise its right to self-determination; and
having claimed or exercised its right to self-determination, each ethnic nationality has the right to go it alone, or, enter into alignment with other ethnic nationalities with commonality of interests, of its own choosing, sealed with a “Memorandum of Understanding” that the United Nations (in conjunction with the African Union) may help them craft.

As conceptualized, the Golden Rule of Ethnic Nationalities is designed to correct once and for all time the British mistake of 1914 in lumping together under one state roof, without their consent, incompatible ethnic nationalities with different value systems and no prior history of living together.

As we stressed in a previous press release and reiterate here, no able-bodied individual undertakes a serious journey on the legs of another person. Instead, where we are right now, each ethnic group in the British hand-me-down artificiality called Nigeria must by itself, free of all interference by any other group(s), make a decision on the way forward by itself and for its own people.
