Time for a New Political Order in Rivers State. A shout out to the few good men–George Kerley,Rivers-First

New York[RR]Igweocha–Clearly, it is time for a new political order in Rivers State. For the past three years, the current gladiators have done nothing but spread hate and division.

Rivers people have become weary and teary. Enough has become enough. The destiny of Rivers state can no longer be thrown up to the antics of two former friends and accomplices who fell out because of their egos and political ambitions.

In 2019, it will be up to Rivers State and its people to decide if they would like to continue with another four years of chaos and anarchy or four years of peace, unity, progress and development.

It is as a result of some of this that some of us are calling on the likes of Dumo Lulu Briggs (DLB) to rise up to the challenge and declare a bold and independent intent to run for the office of the Governor of Rivers State.

Since 2003 when he emerged as flag-bearer of the then National Democratic Party (NDP), Dumo Lulu Briggs has not hidden his desire to be Governor of Rivers State.
It is now left to him to approach Rivers people and articulate his vision for a progressive and peaceful Rivers state where everyone will be given access to a good life complete with a balanced education, employment, job fulfillment and happiness.

Since April 2017 when he declared his membership of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Dumo Lulu Briggs has continued to enjoy great visibility across the party hierarchy and in mobilizing the party’s grass-root structures across the state.

A visibly active and viable political machinery has also been re-awakened to add momentum to and power up the DLB candidacy.
Youth groups such as the Dumo Youth Foundation, The Rivers Project and many others have sprouted up across the state and launched active presence on social media channels to advance and advocate for a DLB candidacy under the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Rivers State.

Christian groups are not left out. Church programs such as seminars and thanksgivings are being held across Rivers State to add a spiritual tonic to the political quest of the Kalabari business tycoon.

There is some measure of renewed excitement across the land. A new kind of politics is about to berth in Rivers state; the politics of humanity and brotherliness, where each one looks out for the wellbeing of another.

The kind of politics that will ensure that Rivers elites can now reside in Rivers State and not run away to other lands for fear of kidnap, robbery or assassination.

The kind of politics that will ensure that government takes care of its people regardless of party affiliations, whether past or present. The kind of politics that will ensure politicians seek the betterment of their people rather than pander to their own political survival.

The kind of politics that is not Do or Die. The kind of politics that will ensure attention is given to infrastructure development across Rivers state, and not just in Port Harcourt metropolis.
The kind of politics that will give reason to Education, Wealth creation and the pursuit of happiness, largely because Rivers people deserve much better.

It is this mission that Dumo Lulu Briggs (and the others like him who seek to govern Rivers state) should prepare himself for.

We have had enough to die hard politicians. It is time to fall back on the few good men. It is okay to fall back on a new gospel, even if we still believe in the Old time religion.
