UDOM WILL WORK WITH BUHARI AND BRING DEVELOPMENT TO AKWA IBOM –AKPABIO

New York[RR]Akwa-Ibiom–Gov. Godswill Akpabio has urged indigenes of the State to ignore the falsehood being propagated by the opposition that Akwa Ibom will collapse should PDP win this Saturday’s governorship election.

He made this known in a live radio interview programme on Planet radio where he took the people down memory lane and reminded them how Lagos, Edo, Anambra states governments were robustly developing their economies without necessarily being in the same party at the center.

He noted that Nigeria is a federation and hence all State government as a matter of necessity get what they deserve from the Federal Government as at when due, noting that the country’s constitution has clearly spelt out the functions of all organs of government.

Governor Akpabio stated that the Federal Government will now be the ones coming to lobby the Akwa ibom state government for support.

He said that while Udom as a governor will relate perfectly with the new President of the country irrespective of his political platform, just as he will relate with other stakeholders in the global community.

“If Buhari had come to my state to campaign for the other candidate as the APC members were hoping for, I would welcome him and introduce him to Mr Udom Emmanuel that this is the man he will be working it as the next governor of Akwa Ibom State.”

“But of course he did not come to Akwa Ibom knowing that it will be a futile effort, because the state is 100percent PDP and they will deliver Udom Emmanuel come April 11.”

The Governor said that “the emergence of a PDP governor gives the state an identity and does not make the State an opposition state, rather those who oppose him in the State are the opposition.”

He described the opposition as people without any development blue print who only rely on cheap propaganda to deceive voters, but added tht Akwa Ibom people are not ready to be swayed by such cheap political propagandists.

“Yesterday, your station organized a debate for all the candidates and Udom Emmanuel sat here for three hours, yet none of them came because they have nothing to present as blueprint.”

In the words of Chief Akpabio, “Governor Fashola of Lagos state, Adams Oshiomhole of Edo state usually attend the council of state meetings with the President Jonathan, noting that the constitution protects all the governors as Nigeria is a Federation ”. he also reminded eligible voters that all the gigantic massive development project of his administration were all undertaken by state government found by the government. He listed the Ibom International Airport, the Ibom power plant, the Le Meridian Golf resort, the free and compulsory education, the overhead bridges, the Ibom international stadium, the massive road and infrastructural renaissance seen everywhere in the state.

He assured Akwa Ibom people that with Udom at the helms of affairs, the State will continue to reach greater height and industries and jobs will be made available to all.

“I have laid the basic foundation of Education infrastructural development which will enable Mr Udom Emmanuel the incoming governor to build industries and create millions of jobs for our teaming youth”
